Community
Giving Back
Our lawyers and staff are actively involved in the communities in which we live and work. For many years, Lomurro Davison has helped lead the way to make the communities we serve better places to live and conduct business. Through volunteer activity and sponsorship, we have supported a variety of charitable and civic organizations. Many of our attorneys provide pro bono legal services and serve in prominent board positions in community organizations. This dedication and commitment to our community development is part of the culture of our office.
The Charitable Fund of
Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Muñoz, Inc.
The Charitable Fund of LDEM's 5'th Annual Golf Outing has been scheduled for June 6, 2011. For additional information, click here.
The Charitable Fund of Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Muñoz, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that was established in 2006. The Charitable Fund is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people by raising funds to directly benefit local individuals and families who are in need or who have suffered a financial or personal hardship. The Charitable Fund is also committed to supporting local, community-minded charities and non-profit corporations.
Our annual golf outing is The Charitable Fund's largest fundraising event. Through the overwhelming generosity of our supporters, we have already raised over $135,000, which has been distributed to more than 45 struggling individuals and families as well as to local charities, including The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, The Wellness Community and the YMCA Leaders Club.
We have had the honor of assisting many individuals who have demonstrated tremendous courage in the face of unspeakable tragedy. Our donation recipients include a father and eleven children whose wife and mother succumbed to cancer following her diagnosis during the birth of her eleventh child. We assisted a Toms River boy afflicted with Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy who is in need of a motorized wheelchair and a handicapped-accessible van as his body and mobility begin to fail. The Charitable Fund has also supported a Freehold mother of three who was stricken with neurological Lyme’s disease, which left her unable to move her limbs or speak and in need of a machine that would enable her to communicate by focusing her pupils to spell words. We have provided assistance to a Holmdel family who suffered multiple tragedies in the few years since the Charitable Fund has been in existence. Shortly after the birth of her daughter, a mother developed a rare trophoblastic cancer from which she continues to recover. Just a few months ago, the young daughter was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. This family has been ravaged financially because the husband has been unable to work consistently because of his wife and daughter’s medical conditions. Most recently, we were able to raise funds, in conjunction with Freehold Borough PBA 159, to benefit the surviving family members of two local business owners who were murdered in Freehold Borough. These are just a few examples of how the generosity of the Charitable Fund’s supporters has allowed us to, even in the smallest of ways, make a difference in the lives of hurting families.
The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, Inc.
The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, Inc.“Frances Foundation” was founded in 2004 by Partner, Robert Heugle, Jr. in memory of his mother Frances Jean Nolan Heugle whose life was taken by cancer in 2000. Jean had a very special love for children and it is in her name that fifty good-hearted generous members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees have united to bring smiles to seriously ill kids fighting cancer.
The Frances Foundation Mission:
The Frances Foundation has focused, a devoted commitment to bringing smiles to kids fighting cancer. The Foundation strives to alleviate a child’s pain and suffering with a special gift, a special gesture, or even a few special moments. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to impoverished families desperately needing help due to their child’s fight against cancer. The Foundation seeks to give compassionately to children and families dealing with extremely difficult and physical and emotional challenges. In addition to direct aid to a child or a family, the Foundation also supports research aimed to terminate childhood cancers. Helping kids is our passion.
American Cancer Society's
Relay For Life
Lomurro, Davison has been a Corporate Sponsor of the Relay for Life since 2000. Through various fundraisers, both within the office and throughout the community, we have raised over $300,000 which has gone to assist in the American Cancer Society's efforts to find a cure for a disease that, unfortunately, affects everyone in our community at some point during their lives. At an event that strives to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays, those that have been touched by cancer come together to celebrate survivors, remember those they've lost to cancer, and rally to fight back against the disease. Lomurro, Davison continues to support the research, education, advocacy and services that the American Cancer Society provides in hope that we will all live in a world where cancer does not threaten the people we love.
