This
area of law is among the most personal and difficult

resolves on a regular basis include divorce, child
custody, parenting time, alimony, domestic violence,
grandparents’ rights, child support, property
distribution, matrimonial settlement agreements and
Division of Youth and Family Services matters.

attorneys have been involved in cases which have resulted
in published decisions in areas such as interstate
custody disputes, alimony, child support, child relocation,
interstate child support and jurisdiction matters.
The Family Law Department is now one
of the largest in the Central New Jersey area. It
is a department that is well known and well respected
by judges and other lawyers. The attorneys in this
department receive appointments by judges to serve
the judiciary as guardians, attorneys for children
in custody disputes, regular and “blue ribbon”
Early Settlement Panelists, (Monmouth, Middlesex,
Ocean), special committees, etc. Ms. O’Brien
is also qualified pursuant to R. 1:40 to mediate family
law cases. These attorneys also lecture and moderate
programs to other matrimonial attorneys. They are
also active in the Family Law Sections of the Local
Bar Associations. Outside attorneys look to our firm
for advice in difficult cases and will often refer
such cases to the firm for representation.
